Narrative Context
Following on from a lot of the deep work I was doing locally on housing policy, I got pulled into the early movement around standing up a professionalized housing abundance organization that would work at the state level. As the only staff member, I played critical operations roles in getting this organization off the ground, with an emphasis on standing up our technical infrastructure and delivering policy research and strategy. We managed to win a major legislative victory in our first year—even on our shoestring startup budget—and made a real impact on the conversation around housing in Vermont. We also made major strides in establishing a long term future for the org, plugging into the national YIMBY and Housing Abundance movements. I see my time and role at LBH primarily as an organization and systems builder.
